Why Wade built Night Off

“I got the sitter. You pick the spot.”

Wade Bartels, founder · Omaha, Nebraska

Night Off started while Wade and his wife were on a date, talking about arranging a sitter for another occasion. They already had people they loved and trusted. Getting a night on the calendar meant texting, waiting, and following up with everyone once someone said yes.

They were tired of bothering people, and their sitters felt bad when they couldn't help. Wade built Night Off to make those plans easier to coordinate—and easier for either parent to handle.

The idea: “I got the sitter. You pick the spot.”

What Night Off is, and isn’t

Coordination, not a marketplace.

Night Off works with the sitters a family already knows. It doesn’t find sitters, run background checks, or guarantee care. Families pay their sitters directly, and the app stays out of that. Night Off is made by Todd Creek Capital, LLC in Omaha, Nebraska.
