Your first booking, together

Night Off helps families coordinate with sitters they already know.

1. Set up your family and connect a sitter

Parents: sign in to Night Off for Parents with your phone number and set up your family. Invite a sitter you already know. If you want to add your partner, open Family and invite them using their phone number. They should sign in with that same number. Sitters: sign in to Night Off Sitters and connect with a family you know through their invitation.

2. Check the invitation

A saved invitation does not mean the text was delivered. Check the number and invitation status before trying again. For a partner invitation, use Resend text after the five-minute wait. For a pending sitter or sitter-to-family invitation, use the existing invitation’s Resend option instead of adding the person again.

3. Share a time

Sitters: share when you’re free with your connected families. Parents: choose a time that works. Shared availability is not a booking.

4. Ask for that time

Parents: send a request for the time you need. Your sitter still gets to decide.

5. Accept or decline in the app

Sitters: open the availability request in Night Off Sitters and accept or decline. It’s okay if the time doesn’t work for you.

6. Check the confirmed booking

Once accepted, the booking appears in both the family and sitter apps. Check its status before counting the night as covered. If the request was already handled, refresh to see its current status.

What about replying YES by text?

That’s a different flow: a posted job sent to eligible, opted-in sitters on a family’s selected list. The first eligible YES reply claims that job. Requests from shared availability are accepted in the sitter app. Always check the resulting booking status.
